HOSPICE CARE SERVICES

We provide medical and nursing care for your loved one with life-limiting illness. We focus on providing relief from pain, physical stress and mental stress. We also work to improve the quality of life for both your loved one and your family.

Guiding Light Hospice specializes in both inpatient and in-home hospice care with with well-trained and compassionate caregivers and doctors on staff. Our physicians are able to make house calls to help provide the best possible care for your loved one.

PAYING FOR HOSPICE CARE

Guiding Light Hospice is non-denominational, and owned and managed by a professional team from South Texas that understands how faith and culture affect end-of-life situations. With this keen sense of understanding, we are very sensitive to the needs of each family and recognize that the care we provide will differ with each family.

HOW TO GET STARTED WITH HOSPICE CARE

Hospice Care

Guiding Light is one of the few hospices in the nation to provide home visits for hospice patients during the initial days of Hospice by a Board Certified Physician in Hospice and Palliative Care.

Routine Home Care

This is the most common lever of hospice care. Routine home care includes, but is not limited to, nursing and home health aide services.

Continuous Home Care

Continuous Home Care is provided during periods of crisis in which a patient requires continuous nursing care to achieve palliation or management of acute medical symptoms.

General Inpatient Care

General Inpatient Care is care for pain control and symptom management that cannot effectively be provided in other settings.

Respite Care

Respite Care is short-term inpatient care provided to the patient when necessary for the purpose of providing a break in care giving to the patient’s caregiver(s).

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy can be highly beneficial for hospice patients along with providing a means of relaxing and comfort.

Music Therapy

Music therapy in hospice is unique in that it can draw from the patient’s culture, religious beliefs, and cherished memories to create a healing experience that is deeply personal and meaningful.

Guiding Light Hospice is a registered, community-based hospice care agency that is licensed by the State of Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) and Medicare (CMS). We are also accredited through the Community Health Accreditation Program (CHAP).
